David Burks  
    
Coach Burks is an 5th year volunteer    
assistant and is also copper certified.    
He has helped coach the     
PMHS team as well as the Perry    
Meridian Wrestling Club, even taking his    
kids to national events.  Coach Burks and     
his wife, Janene, have four children:    
Greg, Amanda, Kristen, and Danielle.    
He is a 22-year veteran of the     
Indianapolis Police Department and is     
currently the detective sergeant for the     
West District Office.  He previously     
worked in the Homicide/Robbery office     
for five years.    
    
Coach Burks earned a Bachelor of Arts    
degree in Forensic Science and     
Sociology from IU. in 1981.  He     
attended Mishawaka Marian High School where    
he was  a letterman eight times, wrestling    
co-captain three years, MVP two years,    
and state finalist in 1975 and 1976.
