David Thornton   
      
 Coach Thornton is in the 13th year of     
 coaching for Perry Meridian.  He     
 competed in football, wrestling and track     
 in high school where he was an all-city      
 football player and city wrestling     
 champion.  He compiled a 56-24 record     
 including a 27-3 mark as a senior.  He     
 was an alternate to the state meet.  As a     
 football player, he played for Miami     
 University and was a M.A.C. champion     
 his senior year.  As a coach, he has      
 worked at both the middle school and      
 the high school.  He is currently the      
 freshman coach.  He has coached several      
 individual freshman county champions     
 and has had 3 team championships.  He      
 also compiles the wrestling statistics,      
 writes Falcon Mat Notes, and is the     
 Falcon's media contact.  His other      
 coaching duties include coaching the      
 freshman football team and coaching the     
 sprinters and high jumpers during track     
 season.     
      
 Coach Thornton earned a B.S. in applied     
 science from Miami University and an     
 M.S. in math education from Butler.  He      
 is an enthusiastic supporter of many     
 Perry Meridian activities and he is the      
 technical consultant for the musical.
