David Walpole  
     
 Coach Walpole is a 1973 graduate of     
 Cathedral High School.  He was a state    
 runner-up at 132 lbs, his senior year and     
 a captain of the team.    
     
 Coach Walpole graduated from Wabash    
 College in 1977 with a degree in    
 mathematics.  He was captain of the    
 wrestling team during the 76-77 season    
 and NCAA Qualifier.    
     
 He received his Masters in mathematics    
 from Purdue in 1984, and received his    
 Administration Certification from I.U. in    
 1993.    
     
 Coach Walpole is in his 27th year of    
 teaching mathematics at Decatur Central    
 High School.  A former Head Coach at    
 DCHS, he coached wrestling there for    
 18 years.  He was inducted into the    
 Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches    
 Hall of Fame in 2000.    
     
 Coach Walpole is currently in his 5th    
 year of coaching wrestling at Perry    
 Meridian where he has also coached 8th    
 grade football.  He has three children,     
 Leslie a Jr. at IU, David a Freshman at    
 U of I, and Nick a Sophomore at PMHS.
